"Deluxe Rolling Road"

One These precision made "Rolling Roads" is a must for diagnosing your troublesome engines. I found one of these for 16.5mm Gauge and have been using it for a few years now and three previously troublesome loco's have had their troubles solved.

All components are precision made using CNC machinery and top quality materials. The aluminium tracks are the power rails and they hold captive the roller assemblies. The tracks are held to gauge by machined blocks of an engineering plastic.

The roller assemblies are brass side cheeks, engineering plastic spaces and miniature ball bearings as the rollers. "Rolling Roads" are normally supplied with 4 sets of rollers, extras can be ordered. "Rolling Road" is fully compatible with both traditional DC and with DCC systems as it uses your track power.

I was so impressed by the HO unit I had, I wanted one for my 0n3 models and commissioned a batch to be made.

Since then I have added other Narrow Gauge configurations to the range and started to stock some of the other standard gauges. The standard unit consists of the aluminium rails and the rollers for the powered wheels.

Serving Suggestions

Pony Trucks

Pony trucks can be allowed to dangle or extra rollers can be purchased.

Tender Power Collection

For engines where the tender is part of the power collection I would suggest a home made display board as shown here. This one took a morning to make including staining the wood for the display mode. The plywood base is cut oversize as shown and the rolling road screwed to it. To screw the rolling road down I peeled off the soft pads on the underside of the plastic spacer blocks and then screwed through the ply in to the plastic block with a couple of self tapping screws. Provided you pre-drill the plastic the self tappers work fine.

With unit screwed down wooden blocks are used to raise a length of track up to the same height as the rollers. This track is wired to the connectors at one end of the Rolling Road and those at the other end are connected to your controller
