K27 GALLERY

We have all been following the progress of this engine and bemoaning the delayed delivery. I am happy to be able to tell you it will be worth the wait and I have evidence to prove it.

A partially completed prototype was flown into the USA and delivered to PSC part way through the Narrow Gauge Convention in Santa Clara, California at the beginning of September. I was able to handle the prototype and discuss it progress with the people from PSC. I also took some rather poor pictures which I have added below.

Above is the PSC official photo - below are my efforts - click on them for a larger view

These photos are of a physically completed example air freighted to PSC on Monday 17th January. It is complete except for the installation of the sound system with which there has been a slight manufacturing problem resulting in what we hope will be the final delay and the engines should now arrive in the USA in March and the UK some short time after that.

14/06/05      I'VE GOT ONE HERE - WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All my batch of K27's are on the way from the USA as of today but with the 7mm NGA convention this weekend I got them to send one in advance by a speedier route and without the sound board. As i type this its had a limited run on my demo layout, has been fitted with a Lenz 1025 decoder and is now running on DCC on a rolling road.

The model comes in a substantial box and is well wrapped.

The engine has only got pickups on the loco and a multiway connector to the tender. In the tender there is a DCC socket, I've fitted mine with a Lenz 1025, the speaker and two connectors for the sound baord which is coming later for this engine.

Sorry about the odd backgrounds. I took the engine outside and stood it on the gatepost to take the pictures in natural light

No rear coupler is provided. There are screws provided to suit Kadee 0n30 and 0n3 couplers but I guess you will have to do some spacing downwards to get the On30 coupler height right.
