Here's a great little hopper with chunky proportions and
rivets galore -- just right to fit in with our 20' boxcars,
reefers and stock cars.
These can be used as coal hoppers on small layouts or as
heavy ore haulers on larger layouts. (12" minimum radius.)
Kit includes complete body assembly with highly-detailed resin
castings and illustrated instructions ... plus grab-irons, foot
stirrups, brake wheel and detailed door mechanism. (Doors are
non-operating)

20' Wood-Sheathed Refrigerator Cars |
|

|
Early refrigerator cars used lots of ice to keep meats and other
perishables cold ... loaded cars would have the hatches closed
for refrigeration or open to increase air flow over the ice ...
empty cars would have the hatches open to refresh the air
inside.
- Closed Roof Hatches Hatches are moulded in
place on roof to simplify assembly
- Open Roof Hatches Hatches are moulded individually and may be
glued in place at various angles.

Stock Car with Sliding Doors |
|
They're here! Chunky, funky, down & dirty ...
we've adapted the "beautifully ugly" design of our
outside-braced boxcars (shown below) to produce this great new
stock car. Cars come with optional lettering boards that can be
located as desired for your railroad's scheme. Lots of 3-D
detail on these cars |
 |
Doors are moulded separately and slide easily in the tracks
provided! Perfect for hauling cattle, sheep, pigs or even rowdy
rail hands. Includes interior flooring.

20' Wood-Sheathed Boxcars |
|
20' Wood-Sheathed Boxcars Great for hauling all sorts of freight
and supplies on your railroad. Loaded cars were almost always
moved with the doors securely closed and latched. Empty cars
might be seen with the doors open ... and Arttista makes a great
selection of O scale hobo figures that can be placed in the
opening-door version for extra interest! |

Steel Boxcar |
|
Build 'em
clean or add some dust-n-rust ... this husky steel
boxcar is a must! Inspired by EBT prototype and also
similar to steel cars used on South American narrow
gauge roads.
Most
railroads required that the doors be closed and latched
during transit ... but as modellers we kinda like that
open door to allow for interior detailing, loading-dock
scenes or even just to let the hobos poke their heads
out and take a look around ... doors slide freely in
tracks, so cars may be run with doors open, partially
open or closed.
This car is
loaded with free-standing detail ... vertical brakestaff
and wheel, brake platform on end, strap stirrups on car
sides, drop-style grab-irons on car ends, foot stirrups,
sliding doors, brake cylinder and simulated rigging ...
plus optional tack boards as described below. Sample
shown with BVM T-2 trucks and Kadee #5 couplers --
available separately. |

tack boards (circled) are moulded
separately and may be placed where desired or omitted.

Designed to take a 12" minimum radius, these chunky 15' log
cars pack a "big" look onto a little frame. Complete with
chain and fittings as shown, they're perfect for running
"big-time" logging operations on small layouts ... and also
great for packing more cars into a bigger layout!
|

* Realistic wood grain cast in place -- check out the
"Painting" section for tips on how to make the most of this
great detail!
* Lots of "metal" detail on the castings for a rugged
look -- heavy coupler box reinforcement, metal straps on
the log bunks, free-standing braces to secure the bunks,
separate "cheese block" (log retainer) castings and lots of
little nut-bolt-washer details.
* Includes CHAIN and hardware -- each kit includes
enough chain to run hangers to the trucks AND secure log
loads using any of the four methods we've shown.
* WEIGHTED spine and log bunk castings -- we've added
tiny steel pellets (no lead!) to increase the weight and
insure smooth operation!

KIT CONTENTS:
Top-quality resin castings with weighted spine and log
bunks; chains and hardware; illustrated parts list and
instructions. We recommend BVM T-2 trucks and Kadee #5
couplers (sold separately). Logs are not included.
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced beginner.
Assembly of the car is very simple. Working with the
chains and fittings requires some care and patience. If
you're like me, the first few minutes of working with these
small pieces is a little bit tricky and maybe even slightly
aggravating ... then it quickly turns to fun as you see how
good the added detail looks! -- Dallas
ATTENTION KITBASHERS:
It's "dang near impossible" to saw thru the castings that
contain steel pellets for weight. If you plan on cutting up
your cars, please email to discuss your specific ideas and
we'll see what we can do to accommodate!
